About This Policy
This policy explains how Brussels Airlines VA uses cookies and browser storage on its public website. It does not describe the separate pilot portal, registration service or external websites linked from these pages; their own policies apply.
A cookie is a small piece of information stored by your browser and sent back to the website with subsequent requests. Local storage keeps information in your browser without automatically sending it to the server.
Cookies and browser storage in use
Technical cookies
- Session cookie (normally named
brussels-airlines-va-session): identifies your session so the contact form can display validation errors, temporarily restore submitted fields and show the result of a submission. The cookie contains a session identifier; the form data is kept in the session on the server. XSRF-TOKEN: supports protection against forged requests, particularly when submitting the contact form. It is not used to track browsing activity.
These first-party cookies support the operation and security of the website. Their configured lifetime is two hours and is renewed during use. Closing the browser does not necessarily delete them before they expire.
Display preference
When you switch between light and dark mode, the website saves your choice under theme in local storage. This is not a cookie. The preference has no automatic expiry and remains until you change it or clear the website data in your browser. Without a saved choice, the website follows your device preference. The language is selected through the page URL and does not require a language cookie.
Audience measurement, advertising and external services
The public website does not currently integrate analytics cookies, advertising trackers or embedded Facebook or Discord widgets. Its fonts are hosted locally. Links to social networks and the pilot portal lead to separate services, whose cookies and storage are governed by their own policies.
Your controls
You can delete or block cookies and clear local storage through your browser settings. Blocking technical cookies may prevent the contact form from working correctly. Clearing local storage resets the saved display preference. Merely continuing to browse does not constitute consent to non-essential tracking. If we introduce tracking that requires consent, we will request it before activation and update this policy.
Anti-spam protection for the contact form
When you send a message, we load Google reCAPTCHA v3 from www.recaptcha.net to assess whether the request is automated. Google receives technical information for this security check and may set the _GRECAPTCHA cookie for risk analysis. This external service is not loaded on other pages by this integration. Its cookie lifetime is determined by Google. Blocking the service or its storage may prevent the message from being sent.
